B'akaal (Maya: "place of the bone") was a Mayan province that encompassed part of the present-day states of Chiapas and Tabasco, in Mexico, in the Late Classic Period (600-900 CE), whose most important cities were Lakan Ha (Palenque) and Tortuguero.
