Mount Ebal

Mount Ebal (Hebrew: הַר עֵיבָל Har ʿĒyḇāl; Arabic: جبل عيبال Jabal ‘Aybāl) is one of the two mountains in the immediate vicinity of the city of Nablus in the West Bank (biblical Shechem), and forms the northern side of the valley in which Nablus is situated, the southern side being formed by Mount Gerizim. The mountain is one of the highest peaks in the West Bank and rises to 940 m (3,080 ft) above sea level, some 60 m (200 ft) higher than Mount Gerizim. Mount Ebal is approximately 17 km2 (6.6 sq mi) in area, and is composed primarily of limestone. The slopes of the mountain contain several large caverns which were probably originally quarries, and at the base towards the north are several tombs.

Παραδείγματα από το σώμα κειμένου για mount Ebal
1. There were also the Madhat Yusuf and Mount Ebal affairs, as well as the helplessness, until Operation Defensive Shield, of the Israel Defense Forces under his command in the face of suicide terror and ambushes.
2. The same chief of staff, together with GOC Central Command Yitzhak Eitan and division commander Benny Gantz, abandoned for some 10 hours a group of hikers that had been attacked on Mount Ebal, although they had suffered a casualty and injured members, including small children.
3. It was during his tenure that the IDF‘s twilight period began in terms of values (among other things, the Madhat Yusuf affair and Mount Ebal), from which it recovered – very partially, as can be seen from its conduct during the Second Lebanon War and in the Western Negev – during Operation Defensive Shield.
