Телефонный коммутатор), контрольно-испытательных и др. приборах. Обычно Т. содержит 10 основных кнопок, каждая из которых помечена одной десятичной цифрой, и несколькими дополнительных, отмеченных, например, буквами. При кратковременном нажатии кнопки в приёмное устройство (например, на АТС) поступает соответствующий сигнал и набранная цифра номера фиксируется в нём; последовательным нажатием, например, 7 кнопок Т. можно передать на АТС 7-значный номер телефона вызываемого абонента. Скорость набора номера на Т. составляет до 7-8 знаков в сек, что примерно в 10 раз выше, чем у дискового номеронабирателя. В зависимости от системы расположения кнопок различают 1-, 2-, 3- и 4-рядные Т., причём в телефонных аппаратах и коммутаторах применяются главным образом 3-рядные Т. Конструкция Т. для телефонных аппаратов (см. рис.) допускает их установку вместо дисковых номеронабирателей. Т. для телефонных коммутаторов, как правило, имеет 2 дополнительные кнопки, используемые в служебных целях (например, таких, как сигнализация об окончании набора номера, индивидуальном выборе рабочих мест телефонисток).
