What (who) is Combined bisulfite restriction analysis - definition

Combined bisulfite restriction analysis
Combined Bisulfite Restriction Analysis (or COBRA) is a molecular biology technique that allows for the sensitive quantification of DNA methylation levels at a specific genomic locus on a DNA sequence in a small sample of genomic DNA. The technique is a variation of bisulfite sequencing, and combines bisulfite conversion based polymerase chain reaction with restriction digestion.
restriction enzyme
  • A palindromic recognition site reads the same on the reverse strand as it does on the forward strand when both are read in the same orientation
CLASS OF ENZYMES THAT CLEAVES DNA INTO FRAGMENTS AT OR NEAR SPECIFIC RECOGNITION SITES WITHIN THE MOLECULE KNOWN AS RESTRICTION SITES
Restriction enzymes; Restriction endonuclease; Restriction Enzyme; Restriction nuclease; Restriction endonucleases; Dna restriction-modification enzymes; Dna restriction enzymes; Deoxyribonuclease hindiii; Restriction Enzymes; Restriction Endonucleases; Restriction enzyme, endonuclease; Deoxyribonucleases, type i site-specific; Deoxyribonucleases, type ii site-specific; Deoxyribonucleases, type iii site-specific; Restriction-enzyme cutting site; Site-specific endonuclease; Restriction Endonuclease; Artificial restriction enzyme; Restrictase; Molecular scissors
(also restriction endonuclease)
¦ noun Biochemistry an enzyme with the property of cleaving DNA molecules at or near a specific sequence of bases.
Restriction (mathematics)
  • The function <math>x^2</math> with domain <math>\mathbb{R}</math> does not have an [[inverse function]]. If we restrict <math>x^2</math> to the non-negative [[real number]]s, then it does have an inverse function, known as the [[square root]] of <math>x.</math>
MATHEMATICAL FUNCTION
Function restriction; Restriction of a function; Restricted function; ⩤; ⩥; Restriction of a map; Extension of a function
In mathematics, the restriction of a function f is a new function, denoted f\vert_A or f {\restriction_A}, obtained by choosing a smaller domain A for the original function f.
