Myanmar kyat

The kyat (, US: or ; Burmese: ကျပ် [tɕaʔ]; ISO 4217 code MMK) is the currency of Myanmar (Burma). The typical notation for the kyat is "K" (singular) and "Ks." (plural), placed before the numerals followed by /-.

The term kyat derives from the ancient Burmese unit kyattha (Burmese: ကျပ်သား), equal to 16.3 (16.329324593) grams of silver.

Examples of use of kyat
1. The current fuel price is 180 kyat ($0.15) per gallon for petrol and 160 kyat ($0.13) per gallon for diesel.
2. The salaries of the lowest ranking officials will rise to 15,000 to 20,000 kyat per month, up from 3,000 to 3,500 kyat, an official told the FT.
3. Gold prices have gone up while the kyat has weakened.
4. The sharpest increases will benefit the highest–ranking officials and officers, whose salaries will increase to 120,000–200,000 kyat ($100–$166) per month, up from the previous 10,000 to 16,000 kyat, the Financial Times has learned.
5. The other currencies recovered from them were Bangladeshi Taka, Myanmarese Kyat and some coins.
