What (who) is recursively divergent - definition

METHOD OF GENERATING CREATIVE IDEAS
Divergent thought; Divergent Thinking
  • A map of how Divergent Thinking works

Divergent thinking
Divergent thinking is a thought process or method used to generate creative ideas by exploring many possible solutions. It typically occurs in a spontaneous, free-flowing, "non-linear" manner, such that many ideas are generated in an emergent cognitive fashion.
Divergent evolution
ACCUMULATION OF DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CLOSELY RELATED SPECIES POPULATIONS, LEADING TO SPECIATION
Evolutionary divergence; Divergence (biology); Divergent species; Divergent evolution in animals; Divergent Evolution in Animals; Divergent selection; Evolutionarily diverged
Divergent evolution or divergent selection is the accumulation of differences between closely related populations within a species, leading to speciation. Divergent evolution is typically exhibited when two populations become separated by a geographic barrier (such as in allopatric or peripatric speciation) and experience different selective pressures that drive adaptations to their new environment.
Computably inseparable
IN COMPUTABILITY THEORY, PAIRS OF SETS OF NATURAL NUMBERS THAT CANNOT BE "SEPARATED" WITH A RECURSIVE SET
Effectively separable; Effectively separable set; Effectively separable sets; Effectively inseparable; Effectively inseparable sets; Recursively separable sets; Recursively separable; Recursively inseparable; Recursive inseparability; Recursively inseparable sets
In computability theory, two disjoint sets of natural numbers are called computably inseparable or recursively inseparable if they cannot be "separated" with a computable set.Monk 1976, p.

Divergent thinking

Divergent thinking is a thought process or method used to generate creative ideas by exploring many possible solutions. It typically occurs in a spontaneous, free-flowing, "non-linear" manner, such that many ideas are generated in an emergent cognitive fashion. Many possible solutions are explored in a short amount of time, and unexpected connections are drawn. Following divergent thinking, ideas and information are organized and structured using convergent thinking, which follows a particular set of logical steps to arrive at one solution, which in some cases is a "correct" solution.

The psychologist J.P. Guilford first coined the terms convergent thinking and divergent thinking in 1956.
