Three-way junction

A three-way junction (or three-way intersection) is a type of road intersection with three arms. A Y junction (or Y intersection) generally has three arms of equal size coming at an acute or obtuse angle to each other; while a T junction (or T intersection) also has three arms, but one of the arms is generally a smaller road joining a larger road at right angle.

Examples of use of T-junction
1. In early July this year, Vietnam, China and Laos completed the planting of a marker at the border T–junction.
2. Campaigners have also highlighted ‘before and after‘ images along the Clanfield Road, at Bampton in Oxfordshire, and a T–junction near Canterbury where signs now spoil the view.
3. Representatives from the three countries agreed that the T–junction border landmark was planted in accordance with the border treaties signed by the three countries.
4. The two sides also agreed to discuss with Laos on the landmark planting of the T–junction border line of the three countries.
5. They agreed to rapidly complete the necessary procedures for the signing of the agreement in order to strengthen the three countries‘ friendship and build a peaceful border T–junction for stable and long–term co–operation.
