Examples of use of PWRS
1. PWRs and their rivals, the boiling water reactors, are now, however, easier to build.
2. Toshiba offers boiling water reactors, or BWRs, while Westinghouse specializes in the more widely used pressurized water reactors, or PWRs.
3. The nightmare in any reactor is loss of coolant, and earlier PWRs had complex emergency core cooling systems to prevent the nuclear core melting.
4. It was actually being suggested as part of this deal that Iran would become a 50% owner of our nuclear industry for the purpose of building the PWRs.
5. France‘s 60 operating PWRs emit a relatively benign 2' tonnes of carbon dioxide per megawatt–hour; but that is for today‘s high–grade ores, which will last a few years at best.
