Wikipedia

Kleptomania

Kleptomania is the inability to resist the urge to steal items, usually for reasons other than personal use or financial gain. First described in 1816, kleptomania is classified in psychiatry as an impulse control disorder. Some of the main characteristics of the disorder suggest that kleptomania could be an obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorder, but also share similarities with addictive and mood disorders.

The disorder is frequently under-diagnosed and is regularly associated with other psychiatric disorders, particularly anxiety, eating disorders, alcohol and substance use. Patients with kleptomania are typically treated with therapies in other areas due to the comorbid grievances rather than issues directly related to kleptomania.

Over the last 100 years, a shift from psychotherapeutic to psychopharmacological interventions for kleptomania has occurred. Pharmacological treatments using selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), mood stabilizers and opioid receptor antagonists, and other antidepressants along with cognitive behavioral therapy, have yielded positive results. However, there have also been reports of kleptomania induced by selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

3. Tragically NCP fixation with kleptomania is beyond repair and to ask GoSS stop pussyfooting and deliver on south Sudan construction/development which is now secondary to its doctrine of charity beginning in the neighbouring countries, a vehicle of corruption, is tantamount to asking John Garang resurrect from his grave.
4. But, according to the 1'8' biography by Fiona MacCarthy, he also suffered from – or probably enjoyed – a kind of sexual kleptomania, feeling obliged to have sex with every female he came in contact with, including his sisters, his daughters and, on one occasion at least, the family dog.
5. Gavin O‘Reilly, the president of the World Association of Newspapers, which is co–ordinating the campaign, said on Tuesday: "We need search engines, and they do help consumers navigate an increasingly complicated medium, but they‘re building [their business] on the back of kleptomania." The group of publishers, which includes the International Publishers‘ Association, the European Federation of Magazine Publishers and Agence France Presse, is seeking meetings with Charlie McCreevy, the European Union‘s internal market commissioner, and Viviane Reding, the commissioner responsible for media.
