CLASS OF ENZYMES
MNase; EC 3.1.4.7; EC 3.1.31.1; S7 Nuclease; Spleen endonuclease; Thermonuclease; Nuclease T; Micrococcal endonuclease; Nuclease T'; Staphylococcal nuclease; Staphylococcus aureus nuclease; Staphylococcus aureus nuclease B; Ribonucleate (deoxynucleate) 3'-nucleotidohydrolase

Nuclease protection assay
LABORATORY TECHNIQUE USED IN BIOCHEMISTRY AND GENETICS
RNase protection assay; S1 nuclease assay; S1 mapping; Nuclease protection assays
Nuclease protection assay is a laboratory technique used in biochemistry and genetics to identify individual RNA molecules in a heterogeneous RNA sample extracted from cells. The technique can identify one or more RNA molecules of known sequence even at low total concentration.
Nuclease
  • doi = 10.2210/pdb4rve/pdb }}</ref>
A nuclease (also archaically known as nucleodepolymerase or polynucleotidase) is an enzyme capable of cleaving the phosphodiester bonds between nucleotides of nucleic acids. Nucleases variously effect single and double stranded breaks in their target molecules.

Surveyor nuclease assay is an enzyme mismatch cleavage assay used to detect single base mismatches or small insertions or deletions (indels).

Micrococcal nuclease

Micrococcal nuclease (EC 3.1.31.1, S7 Nuclease, MNase, spleen endonuclease, thermonuclease, nuclease T, micrococcal endonuclease, nuclease T', staphylococcal nuclease, spleen phosphodiesterase, Staphylococcus aureus nuclease, Staphylococcus aureus nuclease B, ribonucleate (deoxynucleate) 3'-nucleotidohydrolase) is an endo-exonuclease that preferentially digests single-stranded nucleic acids. The rate of cleavage is 30 times greater at the 5' side of A or T than at G or C and results in the production of mononucleotides and oligonucleotides with terminal 3'-phosphates. The enzyme is also active against double-stranded DNA and RNA and all sequences will be ultimately cleaved.
