Reflection formula
NUMERICAL COMPUTATION OF SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
Reflection relation; Reflection Relation; Reflection Formula; Euler's reflection formula
In mathematics, a reflection formula or reflection relation for a function f is a relationship between f(a − x) and f(x). It is a special case of a functional equation, and it is very common in the literature to use the term "functional equation" when "reflection formula" is meant.
Elementary symmetric polynomial
HOMOGENEOUS SYMMETRIC POLYNOMIAL IN WHICH EACH POSSIBLE MONOMIAL OCCURS EXACTLY ONCE WITH COEFFICIENT 1
Elementary symmetric function; Elementary symmetric polynomials; Fundamental theorem of symmetric polynomials; Fundamental Theorem of Symmetric Polynomials
In mathematics, specifically in commutative algebra, the elementary symmetric polynomials are one type of basic building block for symmetric polynomials, in the sense that any symmetric polynomial can be expressed as a polynomial in elementary symmetric polynomials. That is, any symmetric polynomial is given by an expression involving only additions and multiplication of constants and elementary symmetric polynomials.

Symmetric-key algorithms are algorithms for cryptography that use the same cryptographic keys for both the encryption of plaintext and the decryption of ciphertext. The keys may be identical, or there may be a simple transformation to go between the two keys.

Reflection nebula

In astronomy, reflection nebula are clouds of interstellar dust which might reflect the light of a nearby star or stars. The energy from the nearby stars is insufficient to ionize the gas of the nebula to create an emission nebula, but is enough to give sufficient scattering to make the dust visible. Thus, the frequency spectrum shown by reflection nebulae is similar to that of the illuminating stars. Among the microscopic particles responsible for the scattering are carbon compounds (e. g. diamond dust) and compounds of other elements such as iron and nickel. The latter two are often aligned with the galactic magnetic field and cause the scattered light to be slightly polarized.
