Marylebone (constituency)
Marylebone was a parliamentary constituency in Middlesex, England from 1832 to 1885. The parliamentary borough formed part of the built up area of London, and returned two members to the House of Commons of the UK Parliament and was created under the Reform Act 1832.

The Metropolitan Borough of St Marylebone was a metropolitan borough of the County of London from 1900 to 1965. It was based directly on the previously existing civil parish of St Marylebone, which was incorporated into the Metropolitan Board of Works area in 1855, retaining a parish vestry, and then became part of the County of London in 1889.

The St Marylebone by-election of 5 December 1963 was held after Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) Wavell Wakefield became a hereditary peer. Though there was a large swing against the government, the seat was retained for the Conservatives by Quintin Hogg, who had renounced his peerage in order to re-enter the House of Commons, in the hope of being chosen as party leader following the resignation of Harold Macmillan, and thereby becoming Prime Minister.
