Karush–Kuhn–Tucker conditions

In mathematical optimization, the Karush–Kuhn–Tucker (KKT) conditions, also known as the Kuhn–Tucker conditions, are first derivative tests (sometimes called first-order necessary conditions) for a solution in nonlinear programming to be optimal, provided that some regularity conditions are satisfied.
Twenty-one Conditions
21 conditions; Twenty-one conditions; 21 Conditions; 21 theses; Moscow thesis; Conditions of Admission to the Communist International
The Twenty-one Conditions, officially the Conditions of Admission to the Communist International, refer to the conditions, most of which were suggested by Vladimir Lenin, to the adhesion of the socialist parties to the Third International (Comintern) created in 1919. The conditions were formally adopted by the Second Congress of the Comintern in 1920.
Euxinia
  • Map of the Black Sea showing the many rivers that supply the basin with low-density fresh water, along with the narrow Bosphorus Strait to the southwest that supplies the basin with high-density salt water. This assists in the stratification and euxinia that exists in the modern Black Sea.
  • Black shale is one of the preliminary indicators of anoxia and perhaps euxinia
  • A simplified model of estuarine circulation in a silled basin. Depicted here is a three-layered body of water which has been further simplified in the article by combining the intermediate and deep layers.
  • Diagram of mechanisms of euxinia in the Canfield Ocean
  • Mariager fjord often produces a "rotten egg" smell in the summer due to sulfur content.
  • Pigments from purple and green sulfur reducing bacteria are strong evidence for euxinic conditions
  • Presence of euxinia in the world's ancient deep oceans. According to Canfield, the deep ocean became sulfitic around 1.8 billion years ago and stayed that way for much of the boring billion. Periodic euxinia dominated through the Late Devonian Kelwasser events, and then most likely disappeared during the Carboniferous. Euxinia reemerged at the Permian-Triassic Boundary, and may have been present during the Ocean Anoxia Events of the Mesozoic. Euxinia is rare in Cenozoic oceans. CONDITION WHEN WATER IS BOTH ANOXIC AND SULFIDIC
Euxinic Conditions; Euxinic
Euxinia or euxinic conditions occur when water is both anoxic and sulfidic. This means that there is no oxygen (O2) and a raised level of free hydrogen sulfide (H2S).

Quiescence

Quiescence (/kwiˈɛsəns/) is a state of quietness or inactivity. It may refer to:

  • Quiescence search, in game tree searching (adversarial search) in artificial intelligence, a quiescent state is one in which a game is considered stable and unlikely to change drastically the next few plays
  • Seed dormancy, a form of delayed seed germination
  • Quiescent phase, the first part of the first stage of childbirth
  • The G0 phase of a cell in the cell cycle; quiescence is the state of a cell when it is not dividing
  • Quiescent current (biasing) in an electronic circuit
  • Quiescent consistency is one of the safety properties for concurrent data structures
